Lola and Bob Kurtzer are strong believers in fate. The way that they met is like a fairy tale and their path to the Catskills is a story that was supposed to happen. It was 1974 and both were building careers in the city. Bob was vp at Fruit of the Loom and in another year would become President. Lola, who left Cuba after Castro, was a fashion designer after studying interior design and fashion at the Fashion Institute in N.Y. Both were working in pressure packed environments and the thought of a weekend escape in the mountains was only a dream. But fate stepped in and they were introduced to Roxbury Run and Lola drew up plans for the dream house that they weekended in for 20 years and retired to in 2002. In between they lived in Miami, where they both built successful real estate businesses for Better Homes and Gardens, using their previous business experience as the foundation for success. Both are community oriented and give whatever spare time they have to local needs. Bob is a substitute teacher and Lola is a member of the Hospital auxiliary where she oversees the Thrift Shop on Main St. Both are very people oriented; they listen to their clients, review marketing plans with them and keep in constant touch.
